Description

C J Vander Ltd (London)
‘Corinium’ Spoon, c. 1967
sterling silver
6 1/8″ long; 19.8g

Notes: Sterling silver replica of the ‘corinium’ liqula spoon used in Cirencester, England, during the Roman occupation of Britain, made by C. J. Vander Ltd., 1967. This cochlearium form spoon acquired its meaning from a spiral or shell, on account of the split neck and off-set pear form bowl and tapered handle.
