Description & Notes: Art Deco sterling silver cigarette case, made in Canada, c. 1920-1940. The front is engine turned with alternating combinations of horizontal bands around a vacant rectangular cartouche upper left; the backside is smooth. The interior surface has a circular brushed finish for added perceptual detail; the contents are held in place with spring loaded pierced arrow bar.

Markings: impressed both sides of cigarette clip, “GEM REG’D”; “MADE IN CANADA”; “STERLING SILVER”

Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition – with very little age and use wear, only what is expected on such an item.
For accuracy only there is a slight compression to the back right corner; this does not affect the function or aesthetics. The patina is soft and rich, there are no monograms or personalization and the clasp is in perfect working order with a strong clip and smooth release. It is ready for use.
