Notes: William Henry Sparrow sterling silver cigarette case of slim, curved, low-profile form that fits comfortably against the body, made circa 1913. The exterior is extensively engraved with scrolling foliate around a central frontal cartouche, and the interior is gilt washed.
Markings: impressed on interior left, “W.H.S”, [Birmingham Anchor], [Sterling Silver Lion Passant], [1913-14 “o”]; impressed on interior right, [Sterling Silver Lion Passant], [1913-14 “o”]; engraved on front circular cartouche with a gothic “W”.
Condition: Antique, Excellent
For Accuracy: an antique it may show expected light signs of wear commensurate with age. The latch, hinge, spring and band work well and snap and hold tight. The cartouche is engraved with a “W.”
