Description & Notes: A fine exceedingly long 17” authentic Turkish Meerschaum churchwarden pipe with carved “Turk’s Head” also referred to as “Sultan Head” bowl, decorated segmented meerschaum stem, and mottled deep amber coloured lucite mouthpiece.
Dimensions:
Pipe – 17” long; 4 ½” high x 3” wide (head)
Case – 18” long x 5 ½” wide x 3” deep
Markings: Original gold foil label with black capital san-serif text, “ARI PIPE / HAND CARVED / IN TURKEY”
Condition: A vintage piece it appears unused and in very good original condition. Although there is no trace of smoke, at some point someone left a couple nibbles on the mouthpiece. For Accuracy: there is a short “crack” on the turban, this appears to be from production. Fully carved churchwardens with meerschaum stems are scarce, likely due to their high retail values. This example is very nice, complete with original fitted case and ready to be christened. The pipe has never been smoked.
