Description

Description: Mettoy clockwork key wind toy, no. 6330, named ‘Billy the Fisherman’, made in Great Britain, circa 1950-51. A boy (plastic) holding a metal fishing rod, stands on a circular color lithographed tin base that represents a pond surrounded by vegetation. Hanging from the line at the end of the rod is a lead fish. The line winds around a sign post and then unwinds allowing the figure to spin back and forth. The sign at the top of the post reads “No” / “Fishing”.

Dimensions: 5 ¼” high; 4 ¼” diameter

Markings: marked on top, “MADE IN GT. BRITAIN”; embossed on legs, “MADE IN / GREAT BRITAIN”

Condition: Very good vintage condition with no missing parts. The lithographed decoration is in very good condition with only the slightest hint of fading and the rod line is a replacement. It is in working order.
