This plate is from the first year of production; it was retired prior to 1950.
Markings: black Royal Doulton backstamp; impressed on base, “10-27” (October, 1927); hand inscribed with pattern number “D4697” / [decorators initial]
Condition: Vintage, Very Good Condition.
For Accuracy Only: there is minimal rubbing to the gilt and stilt marks to the reverse (as expected) and a single flaw at the rim. Overall this condition is better than most, primarily due to the lack of crazing and fine gilt.
