SOLD – Weller – Planter – Forest
PotterySold An American Art Pottery ‘Forest’ pattern planter, made by Weller, early 20th Century. The ‘Forest’ pattern showcases a path winding through a dense forest; the path lit by a brief clearing in the canopy. Ingeniously the path appears to disappear into the vase and come out the other side. Notes: This pot is unique, within the inner edge can be found the decorators (or perhaps another employee’s) set of fingerprints. At some point the pot was picked up before it dried and was run through the full firing process and sold preserving the evidence for posterity. -
