Product Tag: Japanese Coralene

Japanese Coralene is a decoration of tiny raised beads applied to a ceramic surface and produced in the Nippon category of makers and retailers. The result is a shimmering luminescent effect and it is typically found with bright gradient colours and on satin gradient grounds and is often applied in conjunction with gilt beads, cobalt, and moriage techniques. Patented by American Alban L. Rock in Yokohama, Japan, and originally named after the popular American decoration seaweed and coral from which it was based.
