Notes: A collection of short biographies of notable peoples ‘Little Journeys’ was written by Elbert Hubbard author, philosopher, entrepreneur and founder of Roycroft. Originally rejected by a variety of publishers, Hubbard decided to establish The Roycroft Press to print it himself. The Roycrofters would go on to have a significant impact on the American people and the Arts & Crafts movement.

This complete bound series (Vol. 1-16, 1916) was published posthumously by the Roycrofters as a tribute to Elbert Hubbard and Alice Moore Hubbard who died aboard the RMS Lusitania after it was sunk by a German submarine off the coast of Ireland, Friday May 7, 1915.

Markings: the spines are embossed in iconic Roycroft font with ‘Little Journeys / Hubbard / Vol. [x] / [Title] / [Roycroft mark] / [Wise & Co]; the covers are embossed with an elaborate tree and the authors name.
