Artist Biography: Hayashi Chuzo. (Shumpo/Shunpo) EXHIBITED (partial): St. Louis, Louisiana Purchase Exposition, 1905; The Sesqui-Centennial International Exposition,1929;
Condition: As Found – offers accepted – the backsides of both show considerable bruises, gouges and cracks (see photos) BUT the front sides are largely presentable with minimal signs of damage. They came to us in this condition and we are unawares as to the origin of their trauma. They are a nice matched pair and it would be a shame for the good halves (the front sides with all the decoration) not to be enjoyed.
