Description: A fine Scottish school watercolour depicting a family gathered in a great hall listening to harp music in front of a warm fire, signed lower right, G. J. Bell (Scottish, 18th-19th Century), early 19th Century.

Markings: signed lower right, “G. J. Bell”; inscribed verso, “By Sir George Bell, c. 1831. / A surgeon in Edinburgh, considered / to be a good ‘amateur’ watercolorist.”; framers tag verso, “Cave’s Picture Shop, Established 1960, 4/46 Church St. Weybridge, 844133”
