Yasuhiko Ito (Japan, 1867-1942) original watercolour titled, ‘Moon Light, Kiyomizu Temple, Kyoto’, c. 1900. Depicting a misty evening view from the corridor of the Buddhist temple Kiyomizu-dera, eastern Kyoto, with the moon light illuminating the courtyard, far roofs, and surrounding forest. A lantern is suspended from the ceiling complimenting the heavenly glow from the sky and bringing the diffused glow into the interior. Fireflies dot the shadows.
