Porzellanfabrik Hermann Ohme (1880-1930)
Royal Saxe ES
‘Tulips’ Demitasse c. 1900
hand-painted, wrythen and scalloped form
(cup) 2 ¼” high x 3” wide (at handle)
(saucer) 4 ⅝” diameter x ½” high
Notes: Porzellanfabrik Hermann Ohme ‘clear glaze’ demitasse tea cup and saucer of diminutive wrythen form with scalloped saucer rim, likely decorated at Saxe. It is completely hand-painted and gilt by hand with floral sprays that includes beautiful tulips.
Condition: Very Good
For Accuracy: an Antique it may show expected light signs of age and use related wear. There is a short tight glaze craze line on the base of the saucer above the Saxe mark, this is not a hairline and not damage, it does not extend into the porcelain or show from the top – this is a short – and singular – craze only and is not visible unless turned upside and closely inspected. The painting and form are fine and delicate.
