Description: British Aesthetic style ‘Blush Ivory’ vase decorated with “asymmetrical and scattered” hand-enameled “art sprays” of large red, pink and yellow marguerites and pansies among forget-me-nots and green leaves, embellished along with the borders, in 22 carat gold, made by Royal Worcester, mould form number 991, registration number 959, circa 1896.
The Japanese inspired form has a sloped almost softly conical body with a ring border neck and short outward flaring mouth, the waist is emphasized with an outward crenelation ribbed back to a short round foot.
Made of a parian porcelain body the decorating process was elaborate involving a total of five firings to build up the glazes and decoration to a finished state. The interior is glazed with a matt ivory, the exterior with a matt butter then further blushed with a matt apricot glaze before being painted with the flowers then gilt and burnished.

Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition – for accuracy: the gold embellishment is lightly rubbed at the extremities of the mouth, shoulder, and waist.
