Description: Vintage mid-century creamer finished in the iconic matte turquoise glaze, hand-thrown by master pottery Clement “Clem” Marot Hull, for Van Briggle Pottery, Colorado Springs, circa 1946-48. The traditional form has an ovoid body with a cinched neck, everted rim, pinched spout and applied handle.

Markings: Van Briggle Conjoined A mark, “C” artist mark for “Clem Hull” used from 1946-1948, hand-thrown “original” identifier

Dimensions: 3” high x 2 ⅞” wide (at handle)

Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition – no damage, no repair.

Notes: “Clement Marot Hull was Master Potter for Van Briggle Pottery from 1946 until his death in 1965. Prior to his work at Van Briggle, he and his father Walter Austin Hull, wife Fran Hull, and sister Helene Mareau operated Hull Santa Fe Pottery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Here they were active with the Santa Fe-Taos community which included Georgia O’Keefe, Randall Davey and Eliseo Rodriguez. Exhibited with the New York Society of Ceramic Art and called an “unusual success”. Worked with MIT and on the Manhattan Project. Member of MENSA, International American Karate Association, American Ceramic Society, Sons of the American Revolution.” (Source: clemhull.com)
