A scarce “Arbor-Florescent” majolica moon flask with cattail pattern, made by Thomas Forester & Sons, England, circa 1883-1891. Of flattened circular form with gilt ring handles and raised foot, the applied granulated surface is incised with cattails on the front and bulrush on the other, and is all-over covered in a high-gloss olive majolica glaze.

Dimensions: 11 7/8” high x 9” wide x 2 3/8” deep

Markings: Applied impressed mark under-glaze on base, “ARBOR-FLORESCENT” / PATENT / FORESTER & SONS””; above original pink paper retailers label with repeating Greek key.

Condition:Antique, Excellent Condition.
For Accuracy Only: there is an area of glaze skip on the neck from production (not damage) and an extremely old and tiny glaze flake on bottom edge of one foot (negligible). The Arbor-Florescent technique is scarce and the Aesthetic period moon flask form desirable.
