Very nice and unusual American sterling silver child’s toothbrush: 4 ½ inches long, made by Weidlich Sterling Spoon Co. (1915-1950), Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The pattern name of this item is “Ancestry” and the terminal front has a c-scroll design enclosing the engraved name “RYAN” with a stylized flower below. The back of the stem has a complimentary design and the back of the head of the toothbrush is an open elongated oval through which the back of the blue brush insert is visible. The brush does not appear to having ever been used and there is an extra brush insert with this item.
Embossed on back of stem is “W” within a stylized owl with outstretched wings + “STERLING”. This is the Weidlich Sterling Spoon Co. logo / hallmark.
Total weight = 18.4 grams (including brush insert).
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with one new extra brush insert. The front terminal has engraved the name “RYAN”.
