Summary: A fine Edwardian silver plate dessert / cake set comprised of six (6) matching forks & knives with faux ivory (celluloid) handles, made by William Hutton & Sons Ltd, Sheffield & London, England, circa 1893-1915. Each piece of flatware has a horizontally banded decorative ferrels flanked by a beaded border, the forks with engraved decorative cartouche tracing the form under the tines, the knives with a cinched and pointed tip and foliate scrolling along the top. They are presented in the original blue velvet lined fitted hinged wood box with removable top tray. A vacant brass escutcheon is found on the top and locking mechanism is found on the front.

Markings: Each piece of flatware is marked with “WH&S” maker’s mark and “EP” for electro-plate; the area above the lock mechanism is stamped, “SECURE LOCK”.
Condition: Antique, Very Good Condition – presented in the original box.
For Accuracy Only: the tips of a couple knives show some wear and the front lock is missing its brass escutcheon and key. The box shows very light signs of wear as one would expect from an item over one hundred years old.
