A Swedish imported .935 silver & tortoise shell hinged snuff box, 3 inches x 1 ⅞ inches x ½ inch, weighting 45.68 grams and made circa 1900 or earlier. The flat bottom and slightly domed top are made of tortoise shell while the narrow sides of the box are .935 silver engraved with an allover swirling foliage design.
Antique, Very Good
For Accuracy: An antique it may show light signs of age. A couple areas of shallow wear can be seen at the top right and bottom left of the slightly domed lid else excellent. The patina is warm, the silver gauge strong, the engraving deep, and the gilt wash a fine finishing touch.
