Silver cigarette case (835/1000) made in Pforzheim, Germany by Lutz & Weiss circa 1905. Both sides are engraved with four c-scroll cartouches of various sizes surrounded by stylized flowers; each cartouche is filled with a diamond diaper pattern and each diamond is centred by a dot. The sandblasted interior is gilded. It measures 3 ⅛ inches high x 3 ⅞ inches wide x 7/16 inches thick and weighs 125.6 grams ÷ 31.104 = 4.03+ ounces.

It is horizontally hallmarked on the clasp release button by Pforzheim silversmiths Lutz & Wiess:
‘Crescent Moon’ + ‘Crown’ + “835 S” + “LW” (the L under the W) in a shield and engraved along the interior, left side near the top edge: “Meinem lieben Adi zur Erinnerung
an unseren Hochzeitstag”
Excellent vintage, both elastics to hold the cigarettes in place are present and in good vintage condition.
