An ornamental Nippon hanging plaque with a large central painting of a native in a canoe hunting a stag coming out of a forest at sunrise, displayed within a quirky octagonal and highly stylized Egyptian border of repeating friezes of a yellow bird between faux hieroglyphs separated by repeating geometric diapered border.
Measuring 10 3/16” it is in Excellent Vintage Condition. The foot is pierced as the plate was intended to hang on the wall as a plaque. It is appropriately marked with the green M in Wreath Morimura Brothers backstamp. For Accuracy: a vintage vase it may show expected light signs of age and use related wear.
