Description: An early 20th Century Carlton Ware “Best Ware” vase in the Worcester Bird pattern featuring an Asian inspired matt black medallion enamelled with exotic birds and foliage and finished with gilt on an yellow-orange ground, the front and back unified with a matt black brace with floral, foliate and spotted gilt quilting.
Markings: 1894-1947 Carlton Ware Wiltshaw & Robinson backstamp; hand-painted pattern number 2196
