Description: British Aesthetic style ‘Blush Ivory’ covered jar decorated with “asymmetrical and scattered” hand-enamelled “art sprays” of large red, pink and yellow roses among forget-me-nots and green leaves, embellished along with the borders, in 22 carat gold, made by Royal Worcester, circa 1920. The diminutive Japanese inspired form has a rounded squat body with slightly domed “mushroom cap” lid.
Made of a parian porcelain body the decorating process was elaborate involving a total of five firings to build up the glazes and decoration to a finished state. The interior is glazed with a matt ivory, the exterior with a matt butter then further blushed with a matt apricot glaze before being painted with the flowers then gilt and burnished.

Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition – no damage, no repair.
