Description & Notes: A British Arts & Crafts jardinière, form number 3046, covered in a celadon green glaze, made by Minton, England, circa 1892.
Marks & Dating: impressed on base, “cross mark (likely the date code for 1892)/ U (possible a “C” for March) / MINTONS / 18”; embossed “ENGLAND”; incised “3046”
Condition: A period piece, it is offered in good original condition, no repairs. For accuracy only: there is a tight 2” hairline at the rim and a long branching craze on the base (not a crack). Otherwise it is in excellent antique condition with uniform overall crazing and a couple of glaze misses from production, these are not damage and not in any way notable or exceptional to what is expected. The celadon glaze and Arts & Crafts ornament are superb and it is ready for use and display.
